• Steps:
1. Informed consent from patient
2. Ask patient to remove shoes, heavy
clothing and head wear
3. Place the scales on firm surface
and ask the patient to stand straight
against it. Take note of
measurements.
4. Conversion (if needed)
5. Calculate and document results

• BMI of below 18.5
• Risks of being underweight:
1. Malnutrition - Vitamin Deficiencies and Anemia
2. Osteoporosis
3. Compromised Immune System
4. Infertility
5. Growth and developmental issues in children and teenagers
6. HIGH BMI
• Overweight: 25 to 29
Moderately obese: 30 to 39
Severely obese: above 40
