In a transverse wave, the particles in the medium move
perpendicular to the direction of the wave.
Parts of transverse waves:
Crest : the highest point of the wave
Trough : the lowest point of the wave

The particles of the disturbed medium move Perpendicular
to the wave motion are called longitudinal waves or
compressional waves
