The collection inspired from the art of tattooing, this collection simulates the body art on garments. Tattoo designs have
been effectively printed on Lycra fusing the body and the fabric into one common expression of beauty with fascinating cuts
and drapes of skirts, jumpsuits and leggings.
The collection was a team work of five people involved making two garments each and helping each other in the process.
Helped in development of team building . The show stopper dress consist of hand printed one side shoulder top with celtic
tattoo design .

has over the years became a style statement. The trend
of getting inked is growing to glory. Elementary as well
as innovative designs are used to create this body art.

A tribal look in comtemporary style with tattoo print on lycra drop shoulder and
half sleeve top and tattoo rinted on leggings tuned with black high-low raxine
skirt.

The outfit presents a classic tribal look with black malmal pleated skirt
drape over a black khadi pencil skirt. The tattoo in centre of the top
highlights the neck with suspenders of black raxine.
Paraffin Batik- Scratching Paraffin Batik-Folding
Batik can be done with paraffin wax to
get finner lines and intricate work. A thick
layer of paraffin wax was applied both the
side of fabric , using scratching and folding
techniques. Using sharp tools and clips the
design was created.
The design developed for scratching
technique is an abstract look using cures
giving an on-going motion of wind and for
folding its a cracking effect.

Beeswax Batik-BrushingBeeswax Batik-Block Printing
Batik is a resist technique for producing
design on fabric. The special feature of
batik is that fine lines of colour can be
running irregularly across the resist printing
process.
The material used is beeswax for block
printing and brushing using metal blocks
and non-synthetic brush.
The motives used were floral with soothing
effect of yellow as the base colour with pinl
colour.
TIE AND DYE
Tie and Dye Samples
Tie and Dye. is a resist dyeing technique, a
craft which has been in practice in many
parts of the world. Tie and Dye is now
practiced in different names in different
countries. In India, the popular names is
'Bandhana' or 'Chundri' or 'Shibori'.
These samples are developed using direct
dye with various patterns . It involved
various techniques to make these pattern
like hand stitching and tying, folding,
binding-in, jamming and pegging.
Khari Print Single Block Print
BLOCK PRINTING
Block Printing is the oldest method of
printing designs on the fabric by hand.
Majority of the blocks are made of wood,
metal strips maybe used to reinforce parts
of the design.
The prints are made of single wood block
using Khari and pigment paste on Silk and
casement fabric. The motives used were
abstract and floral.

Kathiawari Embroidery Of Gujarat
Gujarat is famous for Kathiawari
embroidery, an important venter for fine
commercial work.
The fabric used is black casement and
brighter colours like green, red, yellow and
orange as traditional coours. The design
pattern were inspired from floral and fauna.

Kantha Embroidery Of West Benagl
KanthaisthetraditionalembroideryofWest
Bengal. Its made of discarded saris and rags
threads by rural women.
The embroidery is done with three layers of
white malmal fabric using running stitches
with variatons . The motif developed were
inspired from brids and abstract design
aroundit.Thecoloursusedwerered,orange,
yellow, blue and white as traditionally used.

DRAPING
Draping is the method of developing pattern without
the aid of pattern or measurements. Draping can be
used to optain any style, pattern and garemnt like
sleeves, skirts, yoke, princessline, cowls, pleats,
collar, halter neck and many more. Such patterns
were practiced in college.
AttheendIhavedevelopedadrapedgarmentinspired
by 'Butterfly's cocoon' as the drape around the waist
using raw silk and princessline dress as the main
garment using silk-cotton fabric.

JEWELRY DESIGNED FROM INSPIRATION-
VICTORIAN ARCHITECTURE
TheVictorian and Gothic architecture has inspired me to design a set of jewelry.
The jewelry were designed keeping in mind to use the traditional style of India with western. The concept
was to use 'Minakari' from Rajasthan with different colours like white and blue along with oxidized gold and
silver base.

Traditional Style
The Jewelry is divied into three styles-
Traditional Style- Where the inspiration was taken as door knobs,
ceilings and pillars, using oxidized gold with blue and white minakari
with red stones.
Contemporary Style- Where the King's College,United kingdom ceiling
was my inspiration with base as oxidized silver, white and blue minakari
and salt crystal stones along with a broach and chains.
Fusion Style- The magnificent white marbel pillars was the inspiration
to make heels with white leather and transparent plastic cover along
with blue cut stone.

MOON
The inspiration taken to develop
these motif was moon. I kept
the design minimal keeping
the shape of crescent moon
constant. These motifs can be
used for various purpose like
embroidery, weave, block print,
screen print and graphic print.
The inspiration taken to develop these motif was
lines. I have developed different types of line as
zig-zag, vertical, diagonal and combination of
all three in different directions. I have kept the
approach as abstract which can be used as bold
prints in apparels.

Developed Motif
Repeats Of The Motif
The Motif is inspired from Flowers
as Sunflower. The concept is based
on usage of traditional textile in this
repeat unit. I have showed the use
of Kantha embroidey over a graphic
printed design used as a border in a
flared white dress.
The Motif is inspired from Aquatic as
Fish. The concept is based on usage
of traditional textile in this repeat
unit. I have used a batik print style
as graphic printing for patch work on
denim dangaree.

FLAT SKETCHES
COREL DRAW
The Motif is inspired from a very famous architure in Amber Palace in Jaipur made of
mirrors. Inspired from here, I have developed this motif to use it for flat sketches for
women and men ethnic wear.
The women wearing blouse with transparent peplum effect and lehenga with inside
fullness and a net dupatta with gold zare work all-over.
The men wearing a waist coat witht the embossed effect of the motif with stand collar
and pants.
A separate rose motif for children wear in a high-low skirt with pannels.

M.S PAINT
The motif is developed using single rectangle shape giving
geometrical look of a lotus in M.S Paint. The motif future used to
design a saree.
The saree flat design was represented as draped sare by using
photoshop , a special feature known as 'Clipping mask'.

The Portraits resemble a dreamy suitation of the women with a very calm appearance on their faces expressing positivity and happiness.
RELIEF PAINTING
The Relief painting is made of using
emsile work on wooden piece covered
with jute fabric and pianted with red-
brown shades. The shells are natural
shells picked up from the Balighai
beach in Puri.
The craft piece resembles the nature's
touch of creepers and climbing plant
showing flexibility and free flow nature
ofplantsandbringingsuchenvironment
in the place.

  • 18. FLAT SKETCHES COREL DRAW The Motif is inspired from a very famous architure in Amber Palace in Jaipur made of mirrors. Inspired from here, I have developed this motif to use it for flat sketches for women and men ethnic wear. The women wearing blouse with transparent peplum effect and lehenga with inside fullness and a net dupatta with gold zare work all-over. The men wearing a waist coat witht the embossed effect of the motif with stand collar and pants. A separate rose motif for children wear in a high-low skirt with pannels.
