1. Enter the domain name of the website
that you want to access in web browser
2. Web browser issue a command to OS to
generate IP address of the given domain
name.
3. OS maintains HOSTS file contains list of IP
address of domain names. And OS check
for it
4. If IP address is not found in it. Then OS
connects to a DNS network( it maintains a
directory). And DNS finds and return to
the OS.
5. After obtaining it IP address, the OS send
it to a web browser.
