My career has been shaped by my first mentor who said: “the user knows more than you do about what
they need -- you just know how to write code.” My design is grounded in actively listening to the user and
shaping a solution around their needs.
Work experience
Senior Business Analyst, Shamrock Foods Company, Corporate 6/12 to present
 To address the stated problem of inventory variances, I researched, designed, and implemented
business process changes, modified data using SQL, converted costing methods from FIFO to
standard, and provided user training in Microsoft AX 2012. The combination significantly
reduced inventory variances for meat plant divisions in 2 states.
 Drove implementation of new Beverage Division.
 During the migration from the iSeries to Microsoft AX 2012, I gathered business requirements
for user stories and created SSRS reports for Dairy Divisions, replicating their legacy reporting.
 To provide the exact level of security each business division expects, as security officer I
manually converted security from Microsoft AX 2009 to Microsoft AX 2012.
Senior Business Analyst, Shamrock Foods Company, Arizona Meat Division 3/10 to 6/12
 The Meat Plant General Manager requested my transfer to the Arizona Meat Plant Division to
work on site with users to implement Microsoft AX 2009.
 In response to user input, my design concepts included reformatting AX forms to be simpler for
production floor associates.
 Collaboration with the development team resulted in significant reduction in the time required for
production floor associates to enter and process transactions.
 I designed and implemented a phased in approach with multiple implementations which allowed
for cross training and risk reduction for the business.
 The cumulative result of these changes was zero down time on every implementation, and
lessons learned on each implementation were carried forward to the next implementation on
Microsoft AX 2009.
Senior Business Analyst, Shamrock Foods Company, Corporate 1/00 to 3/10
 I designed a new GAAP compliant general ledger structure to be used when migrating from
iSeries Infinium to Microsoft AX 2009.
 Achieved alignment from divisional financial controllers by explaining the benefits of the new
general ledger structure and responding to their concerns through a series of individual and group
meetings.
 Acting as project lead for the fast track implementation team for Microsoft AX 2009 in the
Colorado Meat Plant, we shipped the first product 91 days after project kick-off.
 To resolve system integrity issues, I designed and implemented catchweight logic for the Meat
Plant divisions.
 To maintain the level of security as expected by the user community, as security officer I
discussed security requirements with department managers from every division and then
designed a security model incorporating their needs.
 I designed, programmed and implemented case-up logic to the iSeries Ross ERP that
automatically increased the customer’s order based on preset criteria to maximize the warehouse
picking options, which prevented picking errors.
Business Analyst, Technical Lead, Shamrock Foods Company, Dairy Division 1/98 to 1/00
 Shamrock’s CFO hand-picked me as troubleshooter for Dairy Division.
 For Y2K, I upgraded the iSeries ERP. I managed a team of developers, designed system
modifications, designed and implemented user test plans, and completed source code review.
 To ensure Y2K compliance, Shamrock required a new inventory management system. I
managed a team of iSeries developers to implement the system, included designing and
implementing interfaces to the iSeries ERP.

Senior Programmer/Analyst, Shamrock Foods Company, Corporate 1/96 to 1/98
 Shamrock recruited me from Ross (software vendor) to be their dedicated on-site expert.
 Leveraging 18 months experience with Shamrock, I focused first on root cause of user errors and
support calls. After evaluating all areas in Ross that caused user errors or support calls, I
designed, programmed and implemented solutions to automate and improve the processes to
reduce errors on the iSeries.
 A lack of audit capabilities was a constant frustration to users and IS support staff. To address
the need, I designed, programmed and implemented a comprehensive audit database to query
for multiple transaction types.
Business Analyst, Ross Computer Systems 2/92 to 1/96
 Ross was a Dairy ERP software vendor who provided solutions to approximately 120 dairies
nationwide for the IBM AS/400. Designing creative solutions to user problems was my specialty.
 My on-site support training style bridges the gap between business and technology presenting
the information using language familiar to the users. My on-site travel schedule exceeded 50% of
my work week due to high customer demand for my time.
 The Ross development staff preferred by my technical specifications because I leveraged my
experience as a developer to create complete requirements.
Systems Manager, Best Reception Systems 11/87 to 2/92
 Managed a team to implement a new software/hardware platform DEC VAX 4000.
 Designed and implemented the customization needed for new software.
Systems Manager, Specialty Produce Company 1/87 to 11/87
Specialty was a small produce company that needed a computer system. With the help of a IBM
VAR, I single handedly implemented an IBM System 36, from order to cash, distribution, finance
to payroll. After all documentation was completed and users were trained, the owner announced
the system was perfect and we never needed to change anything ever again.
Systems Manager, United Liquor Corporation 1/86 to 1/87
One of my responsibilities was inventory control on the IBM System 36. Due to federal
regulations, United Liquor was fined $1 for each bottle that was unaccounted for. Prior to my
employment, the fines had been substantial. Within two fiscal quarters, through process control,
the fines were significantly reduced. By the third quarter, the fine was zero, and my bonus was
substantial.
Prior experience upon request.
