Sulymaan Hameed chose two backgrounds for his final pieces that clearly showed a foreground, middle ground, and background. This would allow him to easily photoshop his portraits into the images following the rule of thirds. Taking inspiration from Eugenia Loli, he decided galaxy images would make good backgrounds and add complexity to the photos. However, two other background images were declined - one with a red tint restricting additions, and another that was too complex to photoshop over.
2. Out of all of the backgrounds,
these were the pictures I chose
to use in my final pieces. I felt
as though they clearly showed
a foreground, middle ground
and background. This would
allow me to link my work into
Eugenia Loli, as she seems to
change the backgrounds of a
lot of pictures. I was also able
to easily Photoshop my
portraits into them without
taking away from the overall
image. The positioning of my
portraits would have followed
the rule of thirds and made for
a more aesthetically pleasing
picture.
BACKGROUNDS - PORTRAITS
5. Taking inspiration
from Eugenia Loli, I
decided a galaxy
would be an
excellent fit as the
background of my
pieces. These would
be photoshoped into
the backgrounds of
the images I chose
previously. They
made the photo
busier and therefore
added complexity.
ADDITIONS TO BACKGROUND
6. This image
was not
chosen due to
the red tint
throughout
the entire
piece. It
restricted any
additions I
could make to
the final
piece. As well
as this, I
found that the
background
and middle
ground of the
image seemed
to merge
slightly, this
would have
created a
problem when
photoshopping
any other
images into
them.
DECLINED BACKGROUND - 1
7. Whilst this
picture seemed
to be perfect for
my ideas, I found
that the photo
was already quite
complex with
telephone wires
and branches.
This proved
extremely
dif ficult to
photoshop over.
This particular
photo also
seemed to
restrict my
creative ability in
that I wasn't able
to carry out all
ideas I may have
had for this
piece.
