This document describes an activity to graph quadratic polynomials and observe the shape of the curve and number of zeroes based on the coefficient of x^2. Students will graph quadratic functions by hand on graph paper, plotting ordered pairs and connecting points to form parabolas. They will observe that a parabola opens upward when the coefficient of x^2 is positive and downward when it is negative. The maximum number of zeroes a quadratic polynomial can have is 2.
