country has taken up implementation of SAP IS-
Media beginning 2012. While it is scheduled for
rolling out SAP in different countries in phases till
2018, in the first phase it went live with Finance
and Procurement in SAP IS-Media on 7th Jan 2013 in
UK and USA (two major units).
This end to end implementation is planned to adapt
Global Products Group Concept along with inter-
branch trading model as part of its global business
transformation program. Switching over from

Functional Lead
Nissan Motor Company wants to bring in certain
strategic changes in its global organization in order
to grow at a faster rate. At present Nissan South
Africa sales 40,000 vehicles in a year. As per South
Africa MIDP (Motor Industries development plan) to
get customs Duty incentives and other bonuses,
Nissan South Africa to produce 60000 vehicles by
year 2013.This in turn results in growth Of Nissan
Motors, Globally. In order to cope up with the
strategic changes and South Africa local MIDP
guidelines, Nissan wants to bring in certain
changes. As per the strategy, Nissan South Africa (at
present under GOM region) is going to be under
new strategic region formed as AMIE (Africa, Middle
East, India and Europe).
To implement this strategic changes, SHIFT_NSA
project is taken up which aimed at ERP to function
in Mainframe System and SAP talking to each other
by means of interface. As per the project, only
manufacturing planning to be carried out in
Mainframe System. Procurement,
Debtors’ payment, Vehicle sales and complete FI-
CO functions to happen in SAP system. The link
interfaces between mainframe system and SAP will
be sent via SAP XI (Stone branch middleware to be
used).
Project stake holders intended to go-live this ERP
implementation on 10th Jan’2011 and the same has
been achieved.
After go-live critical care support activities have
been taken till March’2011.
