Steven W. Rhodes, Retired Chief Judge,
US Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of Michigan
Steven W. Rhodes, Retired Chief Judge, US Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of
Michigan, will speak about his experience as the City of Detroit Public Schools
Transition Manager, an office created to lead the City’s public schools out of difficulty
following the City of Detroit’s 2013 bankruptcy.
Since his retirement in 2015, following 30 years of distinguished service to the federal
judiciary and his role presiding over the City of Detroit’s bankruptcy, Judge Rhodes went
on to undertake the Transition Manager position and has now joined the team at JAMS,
the largest private alternative dispute resolution provider in the world, as an alternative
dispute resolution neutral.
