Patrick Erhard worked as a student worker for the Victim Assistance Program at the District Attorney's Office for over two years. In this role, he exceeded expectations by taking on additional responsibilities beyond clerical work, such as coordinating elder abuse presentations, assisting victims of financial elder abuse, and temporarily working in other locations during staffing shortages. The letter writer, his supervisor, commends his teamwork, results-driven work, and integrity in working directly with victims. She strongly recommends him for new employment opportunities based on his ability to meet and exceed expectations.

To Whom It May Concern:
I am pleased to write a letter of recommendation for Patrick Erhard. I am the Victim Assistance Program
Supervisor for the Elder Abuse Unit at the District Attorney’s Office. The District Attorney’s Office is
constitutionally mandated to ensure and uphold the rights of crime victims and the Victim Assistance
Program is tasked with this responsibility. This program promotes the health and well-being of victims by
providing support to mitigate the harmful impact of violence on families as victims of crime. We provide
an array of services to meet the material, emotional and informational needs of victims, thereby
facilitating a faster and more complete recovery from the effects of crime.
Mr. Erhard has been with our program since July of 2011 in the position of Student Worker. He has
exceeded my expectations of a Student Worker and has become a vital member to our team. Mr. Erhard
initially handled solely clerical duties within our Program including: distributing, filing, and shredding
crime reports. It soon became apparent that he had potential to assist the victim advocates with more
challenging work. He became the liaison between Adult Protective Services and the District Attorney’s
Elder Abuse Unit when status was requested on shared cases. He was solely responsible for the
coordinating and maintaining all Elder Abuse Presentations in the City of San Diego. He directly assisted
victims of financial elder abuse by phone and would occasionally accompany victims to court along with
the assigned victim advocate. He was responsible for running a weekly report to assist the advocates with
their upcoming court hearings. He assisted in the preparation of all the elder outreach events among
numerous other tasks as they were needed.
Mr. Erhard exemplifies teamwork, results, and integrity. He worked well with others and never blinked
when asked to complete still another task. His willingness to temporarily work in another location to
assist with staffing shortages produced results. His integrity was demonstrated as he worked directly with
victims. He is someone who wants to do the “right thing” and help those in need.
Mr. Erhard was able to meet and exceed the expectations placed upon him and I know he will do the same
as more responsibilities are placed upon him at a new place of employment. I believe he will excel in
whatever endeavors he chooses to pursue. It is with great confidence that I recommend Patrick Erhard for
your organization. If I can be of any assistance, please call me anytime at my direct office number 619
515-8464.
Cordially,
Maria Calle
