KENNESAW,
Ga.
–
Who
doesn’t
love
to
attend
a
country
festival,
sit
in
the
bed
of
their
truck
and
get
down
and
dirty
in
the
mud,
all
while
raising
money
for
diabetes
research?
Delta
Tau
Delta
Fraternity
at
Kennesaw
State
University
provides
the
opportunity
to
do
just
that
with
their
Dukes
of
Hazzard
themed
party
cleverly
renamed
Delts
of
Hazzard.
“We
have
hosted
this
event
for
several
years,”
chapter
President
Jarrett
Howard
says.
”This
year,
though,
we
decided
to
do
take
the
event
to
the
next
level;
why
make
it
solely
about
a
good
time
when
we
can
tie
in
a
philanthropic
aspect
in
order
to
help
others
as
well?”
Held
every
Spring,
Delts
of
Hazzard
is
an
event
that
allows
patrons
to
break
out
the
daisy
dukes,
flannels
and
cowboy
boots
while
enjoying
live
music
and
great
food.
Previous
years
have
included
rising
country
artists
such
as
Chase
Rice,
Jon
Langston,
and
Luke
Combs
with
food
and
refreshments
provided
from
local
food
trucks
and
other
local
restaurants.
“This
year,
we
have
decided
to
give
to
a
cause
that
we,
as
an
organization,
truly
believe
in,’
Howard
states.
“Juvenile
Diabetes
Research
Foundation
is
making
great
strides
in
diabetic
research.
The
people
in
the
Kennesaw
community
like
to
let
their
hair
down,
forget
about
school/work
and
just
have
fun,
but
they
also
like
to
stand
behind
a
cause.
So
we
figured:
why
not
kill
two
birds
with
one
stone?”
Tickets
are
$10
and
can
be
purchased
on
the
official
Delts
of
Hazard
website.
Proceeds
will
go
to
JDRF
to
assist
in
the
research
they
conduct.
2. Attendance,
in
previous
years,
has
been
roughly
2,500
patrons
with
students
from
University
of
Georgia,
Georgia
Tech,
Armstrong
State
University,
Georgia
Southern
and
many
other
universities.
