2. HOT STOVE
DINNER &
AUCTION
The Crosscutters hosted the
10th annual Hot Stove Banquet
in January with proceeds from
the event benefitting the James
V. Brown Library. Guest
speakers from both the Phillies
and the Crosscutters marked the
night, including Cutters manager
& 1992 World Series MVP Pat
Borders, and former
Crosscutter/Current Phillies
catcher Cameron Rupp. The
night also featured a live and
silent auction of sports
memorabilia. More than 300
people attended this sold out
event. In all, a total of $5,025 was
raised for JVB.
3. GRAND SLAM
READING
PROGRAM
For 20 seasons the Crosscutters
have been promoting the
importance of reading and
education through the Grand Slam
Reading Program. Each spring,
local elementary schools are
invited to participate in the
program. Students attending
participating schools are
encouraged to read, especially
during the summer months and are
given a special Crosscutters
bookmark to keep track of their
reading. Students who read 4
books during the summer are
awarded two free tickets to a
Crosscutters game. One lucky
student is randomly drawn from all
participants as the Grand Prize
winner and receives a new laptop
computer from Susquehanna
Computer Innovations. In 2016, 62
local schools participated, with
15,275 students enrolled in the
program.
This year, we partnered with the James V. Brown, and
participants in the Grand Slam Reading Program were
able to spend time with select Cutters players at the
library during the summer…even attending bi-lingual
story time with some of our latin players!
4. CUTTERS 5K RUN
FOR THE CDC

members would otherwise be unable to
attend a game due to physical or
economical limitations. In 2016, 513
tickets were donated to 13 different
organizations participating in the
program.
9. CHARITABLE
TUESDAYS
Throughout the season the Crosscutters
provide local charitable organizations the
opportunity to join us at the ballpark and
promote their programs. This initiative in
it's fourth year, called Charitable
Tuesdays, highlights one organization at
each Tuesday game. Each organization is
interviewed on-field before the game,
throws out the ceremonial first pitch, and
is able to set up a table in the concourse
to distribute information to Cutters’ fans.
Five organizations participated in this
program in 2016: Thrive International,
Connecting the Pieces, Big Brothers Big
Sisters of the Bridge, Project Bald Eagle,
Ronald McDonald House Danville. New
this year, each organization received a
cash donation of $250!
10. LYCOMING
COUNTY
UNITED WAY

businesses throughout the community to
present the United Way Home Run Team

YOUR

Pennsylvania. This year's

through the 50/50 raffle for ARW.

organizations. Players annually
spend over 150 hours
volunteering for local non-
profits, including Habitat for
Humanity, visiting residents of
senior centers, spending time
reading at the local library and
more.
14. DONATIONS
Each year the Crosscutters make ticket, merchandise
and autographed memorabilia donations to local
charitable organizations. In 2016, the Crosscutters
