Industries have joined
together to combine the
latest in UAV technology
with TRAC’s core services of
Inspection, Repairs and
Maintenance for the Oil &

TRAC’s proven record in
service delivery to it’s
established client base can
now be enhanced through
the Airscope approach to

4. Safety
Our proactive approach to safety is to
use proven systems and procedures
that work in commercial aviation to
make our commercial UAV operations
safe and exceed the regulatory
requirements.
In doing so, this allows us to also
meet the requirements of the Oil & Gas
operators safety case.
Training
We use proven principles and
procedures from commercial aviation
as a foundation to train our pilots.
To ensure high standards for all team
members are upheld, all pilots must go
through a rigorous check and training
protocol before being cleared on
commercia l operations . On ce
approved, operational checks occur
regularly to make sure our teams
maintain the Airscope standard.
Consultation
In consultation with the Client, the
TRAC inspector and the Airscope Pilot
we create and draft an inspection
process, including specific tasks to be
carried out, and data points to be
collected during the inspection.
Remote Visual Inspection
The pilots work with our inspectors,
and your own company engineers, to
view assets and infrastructure from a
perspective not possible from the
ground. Video and image capture are
recorded for accountability and report
validation.
Reporting and Assessment
Inspectors check the inspection
findings and to make clear concise
decisions about the state of the asset
and report these findings back to your
engineers.
Planning
The data captured from the UAV
inspection can be used for both the
close out of the actual inspection work
where deemed sufficient and also as a
screening and planning tool.
Review of the collected data can be fed
into campaign inspection and
maintenance planning to determine if;
A hands-on inspection and/or
additional Non-Destructive Testing
may be required to support the
inspection findings
Planning for specific identified areas
for future planned maintenance.
Identification of unplanned
maintenance tasks or safety critical
defects that may have otherwise
gone undetected.
Identifying detailed resources and
materials for planned shutdowns.
“Who is out there to operate it safely, reliably and efficiently?”
SAFE RELIABLE EFFICIENT
5. Start: You have an asset that
requires inspection and
maintenance
Conventional methods may
not get you the information
you need
You decide a UAV remote
visual inspection will get you
the result you want
The inspection is planned in
consultation with your
inspection company
Results are captured and can
be stored in a cloud based
system for multi user access
Areas of interest or concern
are identified and immediate
risks can be dealt with
The Pilot and the inspection
team confirm they have all of
the data required
The certified Pilot deploys
the UAV supported by the
inspection team onsite
A report is generated and
sent to your engineering
department for analysis
Reports are analysed to
determine if further inspection
or maintenance is required
Maintenance activities are
planned into the next
campaign / shutdown
The extent of maintenance
activities is made more
efficient and completed on
time due to the improved
planning
Smarter Inspection, leading to improved planning
