daily doucmentation.
Pacific Park: Staff Geologist for B15 in
Brooklyn, New York as part of the Barclays
Center redevelopment project. Project consists
of planned construction of a school and
residential building which will require soil
excavation to 32’ bls. Oversight of
subcontractor drilling operations and
sampling. Responsibilities included; lithology
recording, full waste characterization
sampling, remedial investigation sampling,
water sampling, soil vapor sampling, plan
courier sample pick ups, upload all
documentation, and create gINT lithology
logs.
Elm Plaza: Staff Geologist for Elm Plaza
team ground water sampling. Site consists of
shopping center with previous occupation of a
laundromat which contaminated the site by
releasing hazardous chemicals into the
parking lot. Several wells were installed and
are routinely monitored for VOCs. Lithology
was logged upon well installation, entered into
gINT for log production. Responsibilities
included; documentation of water sampling
forms and daily logs into company data base,
transpose gINT logs into a cross section,
obtain depth to water measuruements, convert
measurements relative to datum, create ground
water flow maps, and use sample data from
lab to create concentration plume maps.
Queens Plaza: Staff Geologist for a site in the
New York State Brownfields Cleanup
Program. The site is a former disinfectant
production facotry in Long Island City, New
York. Dense non-aquesous phase liquid
(DNAPL) plume has permeated through
bedrock fractures. Oversaw subcontractor
drilling into bedrock in order to determine
depth and location of residual product in
fractures after soil excavation. Ensured use of
drilling product capture pan and sealed
transfer system to designated treatment sump
area on site. Oversaw permanent well
placement for future treatment and grout wall
installation in an area subject to off site
contamination. Led before work safety talks
with drilling team and observed hazards
associated with operations including extra
