regional leaders should be confident using the methods they take the
leadership for
What shall a regional leader do?
- Contribute to prepare the SOP matrix

What shall a regional leader do?
- Contribute to prepare the SOP matrix
- Harmonize the information in the matrix from your region
7. Identification of regional leaders

leadership for
What shall a regional leader do?
- Contribute to prepare the SOP matrix
- Harmonize the information in the matrix from your region
- Contribute to the global harmonization of information
- Contribute to draft/review/finalize the GLOSOLAN SOP
Each SOP has a regional leader serving as global leader too. The global
leader takes the overall responsibility for the writing of the SOP

9. GLOSOLAN SOPs
• All laboratories sending information and all authors
are acknowledged in the GLOSOLAN SOPs
10. GLOSOLAN SOPs
• All laboratories sending information and all authors
are acknowledged in the GLOSOLAN SOPs
11. Next NENALAB meetings
• How was your experience? How can we improve?
• Do you want to have it online again? (Poll)
For in person meetings laboratories should look for self-
financing their participation. RESOLAN meetings usually
take place in different countries every year – we need of
volunteering hosting countries.
Having online meetings will allow us to involve more
laboratories and to allocate to budget to other activities
(purchasing lab equipment, training, organization of PTs,
etc.)
12. FAO Soils Bulletin 74 – “Guidelines for
Quality Management in Soil and Plant
Laboratories” (Poll)
http://www.fao.org/3/W7295E/W7295
E00.htm
We received a request for
updating/reviewing this document,
what do you think? (Poll)
Very few people knew about this
document. Those that know about it
think that it needs revision.
13. GLOSOLAN PT
Is there any lab/country that would like to
become a GLOSOLAN PT sample provider?
All information and material on QA/QC is available at http://www.fao.org/global-soil-
partnership/pillars-action/5-harmonization/glosolan/qaqc/en/
And send me an email at
lucrezia.caon@fao.org
17. GLOSOLAN PT – Additional information
We are currently testing an online GLOSOLAN PT
submission system.
Laboratories participating in future GLOSOLAN PTs will use
this online platform to submit their results.
All laboratories and countries will be given the opportunity
to participate in the GLOSOLAN PT. At least 1 lab per
country will participate.
However, we encourage countries and regions to organize
national and regional PTs. Highly qualified labs should take
the leadership on this.
18. Additional information
• SOPs on the GLOSOLAN webpage
http://www.fao.org/global-soil-partnership/pillars-action/5-
harmonization/glosolan/sops/en/
• Equipment: bartering/donation system
Please send me an email (lucrezia.caon@fao.org) if you have
any equipment you would like to barter/donate
19. Register in GLOSOLAN and invite more
labs to register in the network
Some laboratories attending the meeting are note
registered in GLOSOLAN. You are registered once
you receive the GLOSOLAN registration letter and
certificate. If you did not receive it, you are not
registered.
Only registered laboratories receive GLOSOLAN and
NENALAB related emails. Registration is important,
please.
20. Global assessment
We sent you all an email with the assessment to
complete. Can you please revert to us by
Wednesday next week (17 June)?
These information will be used for awareness
raising and fund raising. As agreed, once ready, we
will send you the draft version of the report so
that you will have a further chance to review the
profile of your country.
21. National Soil Laboratory Networks
- All National Reference Laboratories to complete
the assessment we are sending you. Your inputs
will be used to create the webpage of your
National Soil Laboratory Network.
- Countries that already established National Soil
Laboratory Networks are being asked to share
their experience. We are preparing guidelines on
how to establish National Soil Laboratory
Networks, which will include these case studies
22. International Network on
Fertilizers Analysis
• Please let us know if you are analysis fertilizers and
if your lab would like to be involved in this sub-
network and the related discussion.
• Complete the questionnaire at
https://forms.gle/Z5kYUpH5f6rpn6zUA (these inputs will
be used to open the discussion at the launch
meeting of the network)
23. Thanks for attending the meeting
and workshop, we hope that you
enjoyed it.
All participants will receive a certificate of
participation by email
All presentations and video recording will be
made available on the NENALAB webpage
