Harmonization of SOPs
• For 2020, Afrilab is leading the harmonization of
SOP on Mehlich 3 Phosphorus. The scope of this
SOP was extended to include exchangeable bases
and micronutrient. The final document will be
ready by Nov. 30, 2020
• Several members of Afrilab participated in
harmonization of other SOPs

Formation of NASOLANs
• Individual membership is over 110 persons
• Representation in 28 African countries
• Most of the countries have not formally formed their
NASOLAN
• Some still have controversies on designation of their
National coordinating laboratory.
• We encourage active individuals to take initiative to
mobilize laboratories in their countries
• Laboratories already designated as National Reference
labs are encouraged to exercise leadership
