“At SPIE, you get
a return on your
investment.” ”
What was your first job at SPIE?
Antoine Curdy: I was hired in 2013 as a design technician in electricity, and I was
fortunate enough to begin my career at SPIE working on a very large project:
the design and site supervision of the medical technology and logistics unit of the
Bourg-en-Bresse hospital. For two years, I was able to follow all the technical aspects
of the project, from design right through to the actual commissioning of the equipment.
I found it a very enriching experience, and it taught me a lot about working with all
the trades.
What projects are you currently working on?
A.C.: The company showed confidence in me, and since October 2015 I have been a
business manager assistant. I’m working on a lot of “small” projects in service sectors
such as sports halls, but also on industrial sites. I constantly have to move from one
area to another, and I really like the variety.
What are your prospects for the future at SPIE?
A.C.: From the moment I was hired, I talked about my desire to become a business
development manager. So that I can make this a reality, I have resumed my studies
this year, enrolling for specialised engineering training in energy recovery at the ISTP
- Institut supérieur des techniques de la performance - engineering school in the
south-east of France. My managers at SPIE have very much welcomed this initiative.
This should help my career development, but I don’t want to get ahead of myself!
