2. Brazil-Japan trade flows
 The trade flow between Brazil and Japan grew continuously from 2002 to
2008. In 2010 it reached the record high level of US$ 14 billion, more than
compensating the after crisis fall.

3. Relações comerciais Brasil-Japão
 Japan is among the leading foreign direct investors in the country. The
amount invested in the last five years was just under U.S. $ 10 billion.
However, in relative terms, the Japanese presence has been far more
expressive, with room for growth.
 The prospects of Japanese investments in Brazil amount to almost US$ 12
billion according to a news survey.
 The announced investments are addressed mainly to the automobile
industry and to the electronical, pharmaceutical and steel sectors.

5. The importance of the partnership between
JBIC and BNDES on the upcoming agenda
 Traditional JBIC partnership will continue to play a key role and help to
overtake the upcoming chalenges in financing the following sectors:
 Oil and gas;
 Electric Energy;
 Logistics and transportation
 PAC 2 projects
 The implementation of the new financial cooperation – the largest amount
so far – will be one of the milestones for the remarkable 2012 year for both
institutions:
 First step: MoU celebrated in Tokyo in June 2011
 Up to US$ 3 billion to finance infrastructure projects
 Opportunity for partnership between Brazilian and Japanese companies –
local currency financing

The long term partnership with JBIC have
contributed not only to the achievement of
BNDES´ mission but also enhancing Brazil
and Japan bilateral relationship
 To celebrate these remarkable year, both institutions intend to organize
important events with authorities, executives and entrepreneurs from both
countries that will take place in Rio de Janeiro and in Tokio.
