2. DIMENSION Elements of Dimensioning
1)Projection lines
2)Termination Line
3)Dimension Value
4) Dimension Line
5)Leader Lines
3. Projection Line
1) It should be continous Thin Line
2) Intersecting Projection line and
Dimension line should be avoided.
3) It shoud not cross other lines if
possible.It should be non
intersecting
4) Centre line and outlines of
projection lines of a feature may
be used in place
4. CENTRE LINE AND OUTLINES
OF A FEATURE MAY BE USED
IN PLACE OF PROJECTION
5. DIMENSION LINE
1)It should be continuous thin lines
2) As as possible dimension lines should
not cross other lines.
3) Centerlines or outlines should not be
used as Dimension Line
4)Dimension lines are to be drawn from
visible outlines of a feature and hidddn
lines should be avoided for dimension
purpose.
6. Leader Lines
1) It should be continuous Thin lines
2) To avoid confusion leader lines are not
drawn parallel to adjacent projection
or dimension line.
3) Avoid Common leader lines
7. Dimension line Termination
1)It carries arrow head or oblique
strokes at their ends.
2) Arrow heads may be open, closed or
closed filled in.
3) In a drawing only one side of arrow
head termination should be used.
8. Origin
1) It is made up of small open circle of
approximately 3mm in diameter.
9. Dimension Value
1) It is the numerical vlaue
indicated on a drawing in
appropiate units of
measurement.
2) The unit used in millimeters
