This document is a project report submitted by Shraddha Shrikant Dalavi to Shivaji University in partial fulfillment of an MBA degree. The report studies the health and safety measures at Ghatge Patil Industries Ltd. Through a survey of 100 workers, the report finds that the company provides necessary safety equipment and policies. Workers have good awareness of safety procedures and are satisfied with facilities like drinking water and the canteen. The report concludes that the company's health and safety practices comply with regulations and have reduced accident rates. It recommends further safety trainings and improving environmental conditions.

3. EXECUTIVE SUMMERY :
Health and safety is relevant to all branches of industry, businesses and Commerce
including traditional industries, information technology companies, the National
Health Services, care homes, schools, universities, leisure facilities and offices. Due
to rapid industrialisation, industrial workers are exposed to several types of hazards
and accidents. So in recent years, greater attention is given to health and safety due
to pressure from the government, trade unions, labour laws and awareness of
employers. The main objective of the study is to observe the awareness of the
workers about health and safety in the workplace. And also study their satisfaction
level of the respondents towards health and safety measures. For same purpose GPI
was the main observer where the entire project has been studied and completed . for
these purpose sample size of 100 workers has been selected.The conclusion is that
the organization provide health and safety measures, safety policies in the workplace
and workers are satisfied about equipment provided to them.
INTRODUCTION :

of workers are injured due to mechanical, chemical, electrical and radiations hazards
and it leads to partial or total disablement. So in recent years, greater attention is given
to health and safety due to pressure from the government, trade unions, labour laws and
awareness of employers Successful health and safety practices require clubbing of both
employees. It is the Management as well the workers who should the aware are aware of
the health and safety measures of the organization.
1.1 Objectives of the Study
• To study the safety measures taken by the company for the employees.
• To study the awareness of the workers about health and safety in the workplace.

measures.
Research Methodology :
Research is an academic activity and as such the term should be used in
a technical sense. Research comprises defining and redefining problems,
formulating hypothesis or suggested solutions; collecting, organizing and
evaluating data; making deductions and reaching conclusions; and at last carefully
testing the conclusions to determine whether they fit the formulating hypothesis.
Sources of Data
1. Primary Data :
The primary data means one hand information, which is collected to discuss with
guide allotted by the company and with the HR manager. The data also collected
through questionnaire which filled by the employee of the company. Primary data are
those collected by the investigator himself for the first time and thus they are original in
character they are collected for particular purpose
Types of Primary Data
• Observation –
Observation is the most commonly used method of data collection in the
humanities and social sciences. To some extent this method is also used in
natural sciences. The observer should observe the situation without any biases or
personal interest.
• Questionnaire Method
The questionnaire is one of the most commonly used methods of data
collection in research. Questionnaires are formulated to get to the point
information on any subject area. The questionnaire is an inexpensive method of
data collection as compared to other methods of primary research
5. 2. Secondary Data :
Secondary data refers to data that was collected by someone other than the user.
Common sources of secondary data for social science include censuses,
information collected by government departments, organizational records and
data that was originally collected for other research purposes. The most common
sources are websites, articles, reports, newspapers, magazines etc.
• Sampling Design
A sample design is a definite plan for obtaining a sample from a
given population. The sampling design are as below :

FINDINGS :
• All necessary emergency safety tools are provided by company.
• It is found that most workers have knowledge about safety.
• 100% of the employees agree that company takes to safety measures.
• The provision of drinking water is good the company and mostly all
employees are satisfied with these.
• The company provides basic and better facilities to their employees.
• It is found that mostly all employees are satisfied with the, available
canteen and food quality of the organization.
• Employees wear all safety equipments while working.
• It is found that company is the maintaining clean, neat, and healthy
environment.
• Company organize health camp for the employees for their safety.
• Almost every employee is satisfied with company policies regarding safety
measures.
6. SUGGESTION :
• Safety meetings should be conducted on fortnightly basis instead of monthly so
that technicians share their site problems or if any other problems that they face
at their workplace.
• The management should maintain the environmental and welfare condition in
the organization which is health and comfortable for employees.
• Company should design training programme regarding natural calamities for
employee’s safety as well as company should give demo regarding the same.
CONCLUSION :
It is revealed from the study that ,the health and safety measures provided and adopted
in GHATGE PATIL INDUSTRIES, Uchagaon are found as per provision of various acts
and based on need of workplace. It also reveals that the awareness of the workers about
health and safety measures , safety policies in the workplace area are satisfactory ,
resulting in reducing rate of accident.
The functions performed by the organization are the excellent with the customer
satisfaction, quality gradation, Quality priority also about health and safety, etc. Every
business functions practicing are trying well and in fact many workers and employees
are satisfied and happy about the health and safety. Mostly all employees and workers
are satisfied about equipment provided to them, also the friendly relationships build up
between the workers and employees of the management.
