4. INTRODUCTION TO UAE
(UAE) stands for ‘The United Arab Emirates ’
Consist of 7 states including Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman,
Fujairah, Umm Al Quwain and Ras Al Khaimah.
Situated in Western Asia at the southeast end of the Arabian
Peninsula on the Persian Gul.
Each emirate is governed by a ruler; together, they jointly form
the Federal Supreme Council.
Population is 9.2 million.
National Day is December 2, 1971.
It is a transit point for world crude oil.
member of League of Arab States (Arab League) and the Gulf
Cooperation Council (GCC).

6. History of Relation
Date back to the UAE's formation in 1971 ,Pakistan was the first country
to extend recognition .
Pakistan's contribution to the evolution of armed forces, police, health
and education.
UAE has reciprocated in the same friendly manner to the full satisfaction
of Pakistan
UAE support Pakistan in Jammu and Kashmir issue.
Both countries are Islamic countries.
Both shared faith and traditions, as also geographic proximity and
identity of interests.
Exchanges of high level visits ,regular bilateral consultations ,strong
foundations of mutually beneficial relations, friendship and peaceful
cooperation over the years.
7. Social Relation
Enjoyed close fraternal relations.
Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al-Nahyan’s friendship with
President Ayub Khan led to an exemplary bilateral
relationship.
During that period ,he requested through his
influence, an invitation from Shah of Iran for Sheikh
Zayed to visit Tehran as relations between Abu Dhabi
and Iran were tense and almost non-existent.
Mr. Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto further strengthened the
relationship with Sheikh Zayed.
The warmth in relations diminished in Zia’s era
and regained during General Pervez
Musharraf’s rule.
8. Economic Relations
UAE has emerged as one of Pakistan's major economic
and trading partners.
UAE is Pakistan's largest trading partner in the Middle East
and a major source of investments
UAE is home to more than 1.6 million Pakistani expats
who contributes around $4.5 billion annually to the GDP
Both public and private sectors invested about $3.74 billion
in Pakistan during 2004-2010.
Multinational companies like Emirates National Oil
Company (ENOC), International Petroleum Investment
Company (IPIC) have made investments in different
sectors in Pakistan.
Trade between the two countries was valued at $9 billion as
of 2014.
9. UAE Pakistan Assistance Program
On 12 January 2011, the UAE Pakistan Assistance
Program was launched .
Focus on four main areas of social redevelopment:
health, education, water and infrastructure.
The UAE PAP has worked along a comprehensive
redevelopment plan that takes into account the
harsh geography .
Vital steps to ease the pain and suffering of
people of Swat, Mitigate the impact of floods by
redeveloping infrastructure.
Construction and rehabilitation of 2 bridges, 52
schools and 7 hospitals, as well as the
implementation of 64 water supply schemes
10. Military Relation
The Pakistani military has had a historic role in
helping to train and equip the UAE military.
Contribute training fighter pilots of the UAE
air force
Pakistan spymaster General Pasha became
security advisor to the UAE
Inside Pakistan the UAE has a lease for use
of Shamsi Airfield located in Pakistan's
Baluchistan province.
The UAE is appreciative of Pakistan’s role in
the international campaign against terrorism
11. PAK UAE conflict on Yemen
Pakistan was not reciprocating in its
relationship with Arab states involved
in the Yemen offensive.
UAE also accused Pakistan of siding
with Iran, during Yemen tension.
Pakistan’s parliament voted
unanimously not to join the air
campaign, offering instead to mediate
a solution.
12. Other facts
“The UAE and Pakistan have a key role to play
in regional peace and stability
The UAE also has a long cricket relationship
with Pakistan, serving as a home ground for
the Pakistan cricket team for the past few
decades
Institutions of both the countries are determined
for the formation of a digital Dubai model in
Pakistan.
“Pakistan appreciates the efforts by the UAE for
the protection of wildlife and the environment
Pakistan is ready to render its services for the
success of Expo 2020.
Founder of the UAE Sheikh Zayed donated the
airport( Sheikh Zayed International Airport)
and college in Rahim Yar Khan.
13. CONCLUTION
Pakistan and the UAE have always enjoyed close
fraternal relations.
All relations goes through ups and down
Efforts are underway to institutionalize this
relationship beyond personal contacts and to make
it mutually beneficial
The relationship between the two countries is
steadfast and growing due to personal rapport
between the leadership of the two countries.
Bilateral relations between two countries have
further enhanced with the recent official visit .
