Hanuman Jayanti holds an immense importance in Hindu religion.
This day is dedicated to Lord Hanuman and large number of Lord
Hanuman devotees celebrate the birth anniversary of Maruti
Nandan. month. Hanuman, who is also known as Vanara God, was born
on this day.
Hanuman Jayanti is going to be celebrated on Purnima Tithi of Shukla
Paksha in the month of Chaitra. This is also known as Hanuman
Janmotsav which is celebrated on 6th April,2023 .

The devotees visit temples and apply
tilak of sindoor to their foreheads from
the Hanuman’s body as this
is considered to be good luck. They
sing Hanuman Chalisa and many

• He was a great devotee of Lord Ram. He is the living embodiment
of Ram-Nam.
• Lord Hanuman was Knowledgeable.
• He had the Spirit of selfless service. He served Sri Ram with pure
love and devotion, without expecting any fruit in return. He lived to
serve Sri Ram. He had no desires.
• He never boasted of his bravery and intelligence. He was an ideal
selfless worker, a true Karma Yogi who worked desirelessly and
dynamically.
• He was humble, brave and wise. He possessed all the divine
virtues. He did what others could not do such as crossing the
ocean simply by uttering Ram-Nam, burning the city of Lanka, and
bringing the Sanjeevani herb and restoring Lakshman to life again.

• Lord Hanuman is the son of Mata
Anjana and Kesari. He is also described as the son
of Vayu Deva i.e. the wind god.
• He is a central figure of Hindu epic Ramayana. He is
one of the Chiranjivi(s) i.e. immortal living beings
who are to remain alive on the Earth forever.

• Lord Hanuman is also known
as Mahavira, Bajrangbali, Anjaneya (आञ्जनेय), Pawa

• Lord Hanuman resembles with a monkey in
appearance. He is portrayed in red complexion and a
twisted tail similar to a Vanara. He is depicted with
a Gada i.e. a mace.

• Panchamukhi Hanuman is one of the
popular forms of Lord Hanuman. As per
the legends, Lord Hanuman assumed
Panchamukhi form to kill
demon Mahiravana. Panchamukhi, which
means having five faces, represents Lord
Hanuman with five faces, with Shri
Varaha facing north, Shri
Narasimha facing south, Shri
Garuda facing west and Shri
Hayagriva facing the sky and Lord
Hanuman himself facing the east.
