Technology is defined as a systematic
development of methods , machines,
or process that help in the achievement
of a given objective.
Assistive Technology is any item, piece
of equipment or product system that is
used to increase or improve functional
capabilities of individuals with disabilities.
3. PURPOSE OF A.T
• Assistive technology helps people who
have difficulty speaking , typing , writing,
remembering , pointing , seeing , hearing ,
learning , walking, and many other things
.
examples of assistive technologies are
mobility devices such as wheelchairs and
walkers that help people who are unable to
walk in their own.
8. Some sports have developed with
the goal of creating a challenge
that players with a disability could
enjoy. These sports require
assistive technology for all players
as part of the game. Some
examples are:
Sledge (sled) hockey
wheelchair basketball
Nordic (cross-country) skiing with
"sit-ski" buckets
handcycling races.
Sports requiring assistive technology
