H.R.Giger is one of the six main artists, who have
influenced my study in art and design so far. As for my
A2 Level Coursework Final Piece, was influenced by his
technique of limited colour and the use of chromo tone
colours to make them to have depth and shows the
intricate detail on the black background within his
artwork.
One of his artwork, that influenced me was ‘No 455 New
York City V-Embryo Growth’, that I looked at, which I
based the composition of my final piece similarly. For
the contrast, I used similar chromo tone colours to Giger
on my own piece to give the sense of depth and three
dimensional by carefully applying colour to areas and
blending the tones to fade into the black background.
From my research on Giger, he has used the similar
technique for the majority of his fine art pieces with
using specific chromo tone inks and acrylic paints to
make each piece of art interesting and shows the
intricate detail.
