Kurt Jackson, Cornwall ('Gale Force’)
Kurt Jackson is one of the main artists, who has
influenced and inspired me throughout my years of
studying art and design. He has influenced my final
piece for my AS Level Coursework by being more
experimental with applying contrast and colour to the
piece.
From Kurt Jackson’s inspiration on my own piece, I used
a range of materials such as sand and stones to build up
texture to make the painting more realistic. As well as oil
paints being splatted onto the final piece just like the
way, Kurt Jackson has used on his waves in the ‘Gale
Force’ piece (left-handed side image).
Furthermore, Kurt Jackson has influenced me to use
bright, seascape colours in my own piece by splatting
colours onto the canvas just like he does throughout his
seascape painting range.
