4. DEFINITION OF POLLUTION
when Harmful substances contaminate the
Environment it is called pollution .
Pollution refers to the very bad condition of
Environment in terms of quality and quality.
5. TYPES OF POLLUTIONS
Air pollution
Radio active pollution
water pollution
Noice pollution
Land pollution
6. AIR POLLUTION
Air pollution is the introduction of particulates biological
molecules or other harmful materials into earths atmosphere
causing diseases and other living organisms or cause damages
to the natural environment in to the admosphere.
A substace in the air that can cause harm to humans and the
environment .
7. CAUSES OF AIR POLLUTION
• Carbon dioxide – this happens because of deforestation and
fossil fuel burning
• Sulfur dioxide – due to the burning of sulfur containing
compounds of fossil fuels.
• Sulfur oxides- very dangerous to humans at a high
concentration. Sulfur in the atmosphere is responsible for
acid rain.
8. EFFECTS OF AIR POLLUTION
Animals
Plants
The admosphere as a whole
Human health
9. WATER POLLUTION
• The contamination of water with undesirable substances
which make it unfit for usages.
• Water pollution is the contamination of water bodies
• This form of environmental degradation occurs when
pollutants are directly or indirectly discharged into water
bodies without adequate treatment to remove harmful
compounds.
10. • Water pollution affects the entire biosphere- plants and
organisms living in these bodies of water .
CAUSES OF WATER POLLUTION:
Its caused by organic and inorganic industrial wastes and
affluents discharged into rivers
EFFECTS OF WATER POLLUTION:
Diseases like cholera
Malaria
Typhoid
Aquatic life gets destroyed.
11. NOISE POLLUTION
• Noise pollution is excessive displeasing human ,animal or
machine –created environmental noise that distrupts the
activity or balance of human or animal life.
• Sound becomes undesirable when it disturbs the normal
activities such as working, sleeping, and during
conversations.
12. EFFECTS OF NOISE POLLUTION
• It can be damage physiological and psychological health.
• High blood pressure, stress related illness sleep disruption,
hearing loss, and productivity loss are the problems related
to noise pollution.
13. PREVENTION OF NOICE POLLUTION
• Pleasant home.
• We need to talk sweetly to others.
• Talk less work more.
• Sound affects our ears so loud noise should be avoided.
14. LAND POLLUTION
• Land is earth which is occupied by people for
shelter,occupation etc,..
• Land pollution is the demolition of earths land surfaces often
caused by human activities and their misuse of land
resources.
• It occurs when waste is not disposed property.
• Urbanization and industrialization are major causes of land
pollution.
15. EFFECTS OF LAND POLLUTION
The land cannot be construct house
Ground water will gets affected
House hold garbage like putting plastics.
Man cannot be farming
16. PREVENTION OF LAND POLLUTION
• More and more land should be brought under
farming
• Trees should be planted everywhere
• Waste matter should be disposed immediately
• Avoid using more fertilizers and pesticides
• Avoid drilling the land for more underground water
17. RADIO ACTIVE POLLUTION
• Despite the advantages of nuclear as a clean energy, the big
concern is the resulted from nuclear reaction , which is a
form of pollution .
Radiation(laser-rays) will form radio active pollution.
18. CAUSES OF RADIO ACTIVE POLLUTION
• Nuclear power
• Plants
• Urainium Mining
• Disposal of nuclear waste
• Nuclear weapon
19. EFFECTS OF RADIO ACTIVE POLLUTION
• Ulcer
• Lung cancer
• Skin cancer
• Eye problem
• Swelling of bone joints
• The diseases include blood in cough
20. PREVENTION OF RADIO ACTIVE POLLUTION
• Avoid constructing nuclear power plants
• Avoid using nuclear weapon
• Have proper treatment for nuclear waste
• Avoid mining for Urainium to a minimal
21. CONCLUSION
• Pollution is the introduction of contaminants into the natural
environment that causes adverse change.
• Pollution can take the form of chemical substances such as
noise, heat,.
• Pollutants the components of pollution can be either foreign
substances or naturally occurring contaminants.
• “POLLUTION-If you don’t kill it, It will kill you”
