ABSA Wealth Duties and Responsibilities
 Providingbestclass investmentand financial advicethoughleadership,knowledgeand
excellence to clients. This was achieved by taking account of the client’s risk and return
objectives and conducting an in-depth financial needs analysis. All advice was in line
with the house view and Bank’s investment Philosophy.
 Preparation of the investment proposal as well as the execution of the deal which
entailed presenting and placing the deal, of suitable investment solutions through
bespoke and on the shelf products.
 Conducting relevant portfolio investment analysis, in order to prepare investment
reviews. Suggested portfolio amendments to align the client’s portfolio to their given
risk profiles.
 Remained up to date with investment Product knowledge alongside assisted other
wealth managers with key interactions with clients regarding complex investment
needs and portfolio structuring.
 Managed approximately 1,5 billion in assets, managed budget, tracked fees to deals
and followed up on pipeline deals.
 Specialised in creating bespoke deals to match client needs, which often involved both
Credit and Investment led deals. Technically Skilled and competent. The ability to
explain complex investment solutions to varying education and knowledge levels of
investors.
 Solid knowledge of both local and international markets. The ability to sell all asset
classesand integratingsolutionsto achievethebest return forrisk assumed,and where
possible the most tax efficient.
 Concrete understanding of both local and international CIS funds. Highly familiar and
well acquainted with fund manager quality, investment style and mandates.
 Activelyinvolvedincontinueddiscussions with fund managerswithrelationtothe fund
performance, fees and segregated mandates.
 Extensive knowledge on product development and structures. Well equipped to deal
with conversations around complex structured products and liability driven investing.
 Managed and grew existing client relationships, by providing customer excellence
through swift query resolution and being relationship focused.
 Managed relationships with 3rd party providers which also entailed attending
investment workshops, market overviews and preparing summation reports for the
front office team.
 Imparted valuableskills regarding deals placedto the back office, createdprocesses to
streamline workflow as well as being actively involved in integrating and designing
front office tools.
 Instrumental in building and acquiring new Wealth Management relationships -
Transactional Banking, Credit, Forex, whilst maintaining existing Investment
Relationships within the Bank. Worked closely with teams in credit, foreign exchange
and lifeandestateplanning advisoryteamsto cross sell the entirewealthmanagement
offering.
 Involved in Fund Research and recommendations. Regularly met Fund managers and
Broker consultants to get updates on new funds and existing fund performance.
Attended Asset Manager updates and quarterly review presentations. Made
recommendations with regard to funds to the Asset Allocation and Fund committee.
 Managed relationships with clients throughout changes in Wealth Managers in order
to retain the client.
 Intricately involved in New Business Development, Sales Strategy and Marketing
projects
 Personally managed relationships for a client base consisting of 90% entrepreneurs
who trusted me as an advisor on all their business deals such as private equity deals
they want to take to the market or a public listing for example.
 In cases where appetite was non-existent in the group, clients where aligned to
potential investors such as venture capital investors or BEE partners through existing
clients in my database or opportunities created through existing clients.
 Involved in African investment deals to determine the viability of investment options
to raise capital for a range of undertakings; investments varied across private and unit
trust offerings.
 Appointed FAIS Supervisor for Wealth Mangers, under supervision for various
categories
 Morningstar and Astute Proficient
 Sat on adhoc project committees concerning front office such as vetting of new
investment tools/software for proposals and reviews.
 Experience with dealing with PEPS and government entities.
