2. Our Mission
Virtual Life Stories™ wants to provide an
invaluable service to our customers by providing
comfort during the grieving process, and keeping
the memories of their loved ones and themselves
alive for generations to come and to treasure
indefinitely.

3. Background
In 2014, I was devastated when I lost my best friend suddenly.
While visiting the cemetery where he is buried in Newport, RI,
my fiancé Karen walked through the cemetery while I paid my
respects to my friend. As we drove away, she mentioned how
great it would be to know the life stories of all the people that
were buried there. It was a brilliant idea. So we decided to
create Virtual Life Stories™ to allow people to preserve their
loved one’s legacy and to tell their stories.

4. Background
As we both ruminated on the original idea for the business, we
began to think about how powerful it would be for someone that is
still alive to have the capability to create their own story and tell
it in their own words. We thought it would be useful if they could
add their family to the life story with a family tree and add a
timeline to keep track of how their life has progressed and still
progressing. This allows individuals to pass on treasured memories
that many may not have known about, and for those left behind
the ability to access memories that would easily have been
forgotten and hear their loved ones voice again. When surviving
family and friends are asked, “What one thing do you wish for?”
countless will say, “to hear their voice one more time.” Virtual
Life Stories™ grants that wish.

Service Overview
 Virtual Life Stories™ is a website where a life story can be created for
someone who has passed away, for someone who is still alive and
wants to tell their own life story in their own words, or for beloved
pets that have died by uploading photos, video, audio and inserting
text to their very own webpage that can be viewed anywhere and
shared to others. QR (Quick Response) codes can be affixed to head or
foot stones and can be scanned by a mobile device to launch that
person’s web space on www.virtuallifestories.com so anyone can view
their life story. Virtual Life Stories™ will permanently preserve their
living memories forever.

6. Background of the Management Team
 Shane W. Doyle, CEO and co-founder has worked as a Senior Cloud Engineer for
Verizon for the past six years and architected the technology that VLS uses for its
customers. He has worked in the technology sector for over 20 years. He attended
Colorado State University for his MBA.
 Karen D. Corkery, COO and co-founder works as a clinical Audiologist. She
attended the University of Maryland at College Park for her bachelor’s degree and
James Madison University for her Master’s Degree.
 Shannon D. Doyle, CFO is a CPA and owns his own accounting and financial
planning firm. He has been the CFO for several start-up businesses that have been
profitable. He attended Georgetown University for his business degree in
accounting.
 Michael M. Melletz, SVP of Digital Media Services is an expert in website design
and development and has been for over 20 years. He works as the Director of Web
Development and Design for the Department of Homeland Security. He attended
the Art Institute of Pittsburg and Salisbury University for his Bachelor’s degree.

7. Definition of the Industry
 The industry has been defined as the online memorial and obituary
services market. We believe it’s much more than that. This is in the
personal services market segment and specifically preserving
memories of an individual’s life that are easily and quickly accessible
and shared to others indefinitely.
 Growth
 We believe there will be tremendous growth over the next decade,
because the technology advancements, such as cloud computing, are
available and are affordable, which means we can charge a reasonable
fee to customers.
 The changes in this market segment will be steady as technology matures,
such as faster; more ubiquitous access becomes available around the
world. We will take advantage of first and second world markets as this
technology becomes more wide spread in these markets.

I never knew either of my grandfathers. I have a few faded

grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins. All the memories will be lost
