11. Reflective Essay:
 Reflective essay consists of reflection
or thoughts on some topics, which is
generally of an abstract nature.
Examples:
Habits, qualities, social and political
topics etc.

 A narrative essay consists mainly in
the narration of some events, short
story , or bits of history.
Example:
Incidents, biographies , natural
disasters etc.

 A descriptive essay consists of a
description of some place or a thing.
Example:

countries, buildings and manufactured
articles.

 Think over it, untill ideas about it come
into your mind.
 Note down those ideas on paper and
number them.
 Classify these points in groups under
suitable headings.

 Now begin to write the essay, dividing
it into paragraphs.
 The essay should consists of
introduction, body and conclusion.
 Write in a simple, clear , direct and
natural style.

20. Read these essays carefully.
1. Accidents are very common in big cities as there
are many modes of transport and road are narrow and
over crowded. Once, my brother and I decided to see a
film at cinema . As we were getting late for the show, we
began walking faster along the crowded road. All of a
sudden there was a loud noise. I saw a man rolling on the
ground He was knocked down by a car. The driver was
driving it at a normal speed. He saw a lorry coming from
the opposite direction It was being driven rashly. The car
driver feared a collision. He tried to turn the vehicle aside,
but his clutch wire broke and the machine got out of his
control. It ran into a passerby and hit the pavement.
The man was seriously wounded. He sustained injuries on
the head and face. His nose was bleeding and his leg was
badly bruised.

Taj Mahal is regarded as one of the
eight wonders of the world, and some
Western historians have noted that it’s
architectural beauty has never been
surpassed. The Taj Mahal is the most
beautiful monument built by the Mughals, the
Muslim rulers of India. Taj Mahal is built
entirely of white marble. Its stunning
architectural beauty is beyond adequate
description, particularly at dawn and
sunset. The Taj seems to glow in the light of
the full moon. On a foggy morning, the
visitors experience the Taj Mahal as if
suspended when viewed from across the
Jamuna River.

Patriotism means love of one’s
native land. Just as we love our father
and mother, so we love land of our
birth. This feeling is called patriotism. It is
also our duty not to hate other
nations. We must try to cultivate a healthy
type of patriotism and to devote ourselves
whole heartedly to the uplift and prosperity
of our own country.

remember myself to be very naughty in my
childhood. Back then, I used to go with my
mother to the grasslands, where I would
play a lot. However, my mother, along with
the other horses will be actively grazing all
the time. I always used to make my big
brother angry by biting his tail and running
away. My mother, a beautiful white mare,
used to tell me that I am so fast.
