Barnard College has engaged Turner to construct its new Center for Teaching and Learning building to enhance its status as the top women's college. The 150,000 square foot building will house a state-of-the-art library, computational science center, classrooms, offices, and green roof terrades. It will also provide new spaces for Barnard's Center for Research on Women and Athena Center for Leadership Studies. To mitigate construction impacts, Turner provided preconstruction planning including site safety and swing space for academics during phasing without disturbing campus activities, and helped relocate the college's magnolia tree.
