Section III of the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code, the requirements of which must be
met as well as those of this Specification. The screws connect the flange of the feeder coupling
to the end fitting on each end of the fuel channel assembly. The feeder couplings form a
pressure-tight connection, between the end fittings and the feeder pipes, which form a part of the
Primary Heat Transport System.
The screws are to comply with the pertinent sections of the ASME Code as defined herein.
a) ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code, Section II,
b) ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code, Section III,
c) ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code, Section V.
Areas of control will likely include, but not be limited to:
a) Material quality and control,
b) Nondestructive Examination (NDE),
c) Affidavits of manufacture.

4.4 Registration and Jurisdictional Requirements
The screws for the end fitting/feeder pipe connections are identified as Class 1 material.
Therefore, registration with the jurisdictional authority and authorized inspection are not
required. The screws are part of the fuel channel assembly design for registration purposes with
the appropriate jurisdictional authority, if required. This registration, if required, is the
responsibility of the Purchaser.
