- 49.9% of children aged 6 months to 17 years received an influenza
vaccination during the past 12 months¹
- 5,251 deaths due to influenza in the past 12 months¹
- Vaccinating school-aged children promotes Herd Immunity¹
3. Consequences of Influenza²
- Highly Contagious²
- Symptoms include:²
- Fever or chills Sore Throat
- Runny or stuffy nose Muscle Aches and Fatigue
- Vomiting and diarrhea Cough
- lasts from a few days to two weeks²
- severe cases can become life threatening²
4. Prevention Methods³
- Avoid touching mouth and nose³
- Always wash your hands after the restroom &
before meals³
- Avoid contact with infected people³
- stay home if you are infected to prevent the
spread³
- Drink lots of water, eat healthy, and get plenty
of sleep to maintain your immune system³
- Get vaccinated³
