  2. 2.  General practitioner: is a doctor who treats the most common illnesses.  A medical specialist treats specific illnesses or parts of the body.  People usually go to the hospital if they have a medical emergency.  Symptoms Diagnosis Treatments
  3. 3.  Infectious diseases: caused by microorganisms.  Non-infectious diseases: include allergies, obesity, malnutrition, subtance abuse and mental illness.
  4. 4.  Bacteria: cause diseases like tuberculosis and salmonellosis.  Viruses: cause flu, measles, rubella, and AIDS.  Protozoans: can cause malaria, cholera and ameobic dysentery.  Fungi: cause diseases of the skin, hair and nails.
  5. 5.  By personal contact.  By people contact: people sneeze or cough.  By contact with contaminated objects.  By animals carriers.  By consumption of contaminated food.  By consumption of contaminated water.
  6. 6.  Wash your hands  Brush your teeth  Clean cuts  Keep your pets healthy  Wash raw fruit and vegetables  Don´t walk barefoot in public swimming pools
  7. 7.  Vaccines are subtances that contain weak or dead microorganisms. They can´t make you ill, but they help your body to resist the same diseases in the future.
  8. 8.  Balanced diet  Regular exercise  Get 8-10 hours of sleep every night  Follow road safety rules  Accept and respect yourself and express yor feelings appropriately.  Accept and respect other pople.
