Diagnosis
● There is no medical test to detect Autism.
● Doctors look at the child’s behavior.
● Kids can be diagnosed at 18 months or younger.
● A professional can confirm it by the age of 2.
● Most kid’s don’t get diagnosed until much older.
● This means they may not get the early help they need.
Do I have Autism??
Autism is not a bad thing. It’s just the
way you were born. It can even be good
sometimes :D
Developmental Screening On ASD
Another way to diagnose Autism is through a developmental screening.
●The screening works by having a doctor talk with the parent.
●The doctor may ask some questions.
●The child talks and plays.
●Depending on how they learn, speak, behave and move, the doctor looks
for signs of a problem.
●This is a good way to diagnose Autism Spectrum Disorder.

What does it mean to have
Autism??
● Every individual person with ASD is unique
in their own way.
● Lots of children with ASD have a strong
ability in music, visual, and academic skills.
● About 40% of Autistics have an IQ less than
70.
Autism Treatment
● Right now, there is no treatment for ASD.
● However, therapy can help.
● You can learn how to manage Autism if you have it.
Who is affected? How many??
● About 1 in 68 children have Autism.
● 1 in 42 boys have it.
● 1 in 189 girls have it.
● Over 2 million people in the U.S.A. are affected by Autism.
● Tens of millions worldwide.
● One of my cousins has Autism.
● I was diagnosed with Autism, but then someone un-diagnosed me, so I
never had it in the first place. :O :/
● So that’s why I chose this for my project.
