3. Our Director – Mr. Saurabh Goswami
Since the very beginning, Mr. Saurabh Goswami was clear that he wanted to be an
entrepreneur.
After finishing his IT Engineering from the esteemed UPTU, (Uttar Pradesh Technical
University), he got selected in TCS. Simultaneously he also started preparing for MBA
entrances, as he knew he was going to start his own business soon, and wanted to get
technically sound in business jargon.
In 2009, he got selected in the very prestigious Symbiosis Institute of International Business,
Pune. Being a consistent hard worker, and throughout rank holder, he was amongst the first
to be placed. He got placed with a generous package as Centre Manager in Endeavour
Careers in Ahmedabad.
At that time , it seemed ideal to start searching for his own soulmate. This is when he hit
upon his million dollar idea. He could clearly see substantial need gap in the matrimony
sector, especially amongst the elite business class. He saw that the majority of the Ultra Rich
in India are First or Second generation wealthy. These people had started from a very modest
living and have toiled to reach their current High status. Such people were not just looking for
similar status, but equally valued family background, down to earth attitude, hard working,
simple but classy nature. After doing extensive research, he also found that there were few
players catering for the niche “Business Class”.
And thus Ultra Rich Match was born in November 2011.
4. Reasons behind the Start Up
Following were the deciding factors while setting up of this unique concept of Match making
for the niche:
• a) Target Audience increasing at fast pace: Kotak Wealth and CRISIL Research estimated that
there were around 62,000 ultra HNHs in India as of 2010-11, with a minimum net worth of
250 million. This has already grown to nearly 200,000 High Networth Individuals in 2015-16,
and is poised to more than triple by 2019-20.
• b) Advent of Nuclear Families: Earlier, because of joint families Ultra Rich People used to get
matches directly through their network. Recently, however, nuclear families have emerged
and due to this the people who used to play the mediator role in a matchmaking process are
not able to contribute much.
• c) Limited Time: Earlier professional match making was done by socially known Pundits, who
had huge networks. However, being completely manual, the entire process still remained
long drawn and tedious. These days people have a huge time crunch and they want services
at their doorstep.
• d) Limited Avenues: Ultra Rich People want to keep the details confidential. Hence they look
for personal services rather than common online avenues. And there was a dearth of such
agencies that work for only Ultra Rich / HNI .
