Modifiedthe surface of CNTsto make theirsurface hydrophilicanddevelopedCNT
membranesbyhighpressure compressiontomake membrane filtrationcolumn.
Result– more than 50% desalinationrateswere achieved.
2) CarbonFibers – For Ion separation
Triedto applyCarbonFibersas electrodesforelectrolysisbasedremovalof ionsfromwaste
waters.
Result– Althoughthe experimentproceededwell,afterthe withdrawl of electricitythe ions
were releasedintosolution.
3) Kaolinite clay –For CatalyticNitrate reduction
Applied impregnationmethodstochemically&thermallymodifythe surface of non-reactive
clay to developahighlyreactivecatalystfornitrate reduction selectivenitrogenproduction.
Result– Complete removalof highconcentratednitrate fromwaste waterwasobtained
withreportedlyhighkineticrates.
4) CNTs - For oxidationof Phenol derivatives
Triedto use CNT surface as a carrier of FerrousIonto promote Fenton’sOxidationprocess
withphenolsandretrievingthe products.
Result– Althoughoxidizedproductswere formed,separationprocesswasinsignificantdue
to flowof CNTsintofiltrates.
As seen,all myresearchfirstlygoestodevelopthe material, thenapplyittoa particularprocessto
remove ormodifycontaminantswhile productsof the reactionshouldbe bothnon-toxicandapplicable
for furtheruse.
Future researchmaterial –Polymers
Want to developpolymerfoams fromelectronicplasticwastesthatcanbe thermally conductive
to use theminthe designof artificial heatingequipment.
