Securing an Engineering position in Korea as fresher especially from Non-CS background could be challenging. These are the sample questions of the applications I've sent to various companies when I was in Korea. Hope they help!

[chance]Is the opportunity coming or going? Describe your thoughts with your
experience.
I strongly believe that “Chances are only given to those who try”. When you
are working towards your goal, you involve completely into it and during this
process the people you meet, guidance you receive and experiences from which
you learn all these make you aware of where you are and what you have to do.
It is during this process you see an opportunity in fornt of you and you have
to be confident to utilize it.

Whenever, I have to set up a goal I always follow my passion. I believe
‘never give up’ attitude is most important for any goal to be achieved.
Challenges come on your way but Effort, patience, willingness to improve can
help to sustain yourself through it. During my Masters course we worked on an
industrial project to develop catalytic method to treat contaminated water.
It has been very challenging at every stage of this project, but this is when
I understood working in a team can help to achieve the goal.
we made sure that everyone is aware of each other’s roles and technical
aspects are known to everyone in the team.
Apart from the technical knowledge, working in a team helped me develop a
professional discipline and a perspective to think from the other party.
During the final stages, when we are testing at the site our major focus was
to minimize the cost and retrieve the catalyst for next cycles, since having
paid careful attention at every stage we developed a method which can
stabilize the catalyst at any conditions so that it can retrieved and used
for next cycles.
Our work was also appreciated for being cost effective and sustainable.

[Change] Have you ever experienced a big change? Describe what the occasion
was and what it gained from the change.
In order to broaden my technical knowledge and attain international
experience I decided to do my Masters abroad.
After coming to Korea I have experienced differences in culture and work
etiquette.
Although initially it was hard, but with open mind and liberal understanding
I was able to merge myself here.
From this experience, I was able to realize that although there exist
differences, it is most important how you perceive things and respond to it.
This experience has helped to think from other person’s perspective and
appreciate the differences. Living in Korea, I see people are extremely
hardworking and focused this developed a sense of professional disciple in
me.
저는 기술 지식을 넓히고 국제 경험을 쌓기 위해 해외에서 석사를 하기로 결심했습니다. 한국에
온 후에 저는 문화와 일을 하는데 있어 필요한 에티켓에서 문화차이를 경험했습니다. 처음에는
힘들었지만 열린 마음과 자유로운 이해로 저는 제 자신을 새로운 환경에 어우러질 수
있었습니다. 이 경험을 통해 차이점이 있긴 하지만 어떻게 사건을 인지하고 반응하는 것이 가장
중요하다는 것을 깨달을 수 있었습니다. 이 경험은 다른 사람의 관점에서 사고하고 그 차이를

3. From the different positions open at OCI for 2017 recruitment, I chose
positions in production planning and process operation.
During my course work, I was majorly interested in ‘Process engineering
economics’ where cost estimation and planning play a major role for the
profitability of a chemical industry.
Engineers aim to optimize everything, they want to get the best
possible outcome by using least possible resources and Engineers with
leadership and management skills can greatly contribute to the
production management of any industry. OCI chemical envisions to become
a global company. To be a part of this globalization is something which
I’m enthusiastic about. The position and Industry I’m applying will a
right platform for me apply my knowledge, learn the work etiquette and
be a representative of OCI. OCI is trying to implement a diverse
culture by employing internationals with right skills, this broad
outlook of OCI has greatly interested me. Working with OCI for the
coming years, I can see myself developing into a professional while
improving the quality of humanity and a balance with the environment.

From my experiences I consider that following my passion has always proved me
right. I still remember the day when I realized my passion for chemical
engineering and wanted to help humanity by doing something great here. It has
always been my driving force. I don’t have any significant regrets so far in
my life. Since, I’m an optimistic person I look up for the bright side of
things. Whenever a tough situation arises I first calm myself and analyze
important situations with my colleagues, and I respect and pay attention to
their views and collect their opinions. I believe that decisions made through
active participation and democratic groups can also solve unintended negative
situations. Hence, I have been able to minimize the negativity of the
decisions I make.

4. 제 경험에 비추어 볼 때, 제 자신의 열정을 따르는 것이 항상 저에게 옳다는 것을 입증했다고
생각합니다. 저는 화학공학에 대한 열정을 깨달았을 때를 아직도 기억하고 있으며, 여기서 뭔가
큰 일을 함으로써 인류를 돕고 싶었습니다. 이거이 항상 저의 원동력이었습니다. 지금까지 저의
인생에서 특별한 후회는 없었습니다. 저는 낙관적인 사람이기 때문에 매사 밝은 면을 찾습니다.

5. The main businesses of OCI are Basic Chemical, Petro Chemicals & Carbon Materials, and Energy
Solution. Basic Chemicals consist of Polysilicon, the key material of solar cell, hydrogen peroxide
for households and industrial raw materials, and fumed silica. Petro Chemicals & Carbon Materials
business includes carbon black, the tire reinforcing and coloring material, pitch which is the basic
material for aluminum process and benzene, used as key material in the chemical industry. For the
