  1. 1. Transmogrification, Inc. <ul><li>Creating useful, high quality, and stylish products from recyclable electronics. </li></ul>

Executive Summary <ul><li>Waste material falls under two categories, REAL that has no possible further use such as medical waste, and PERCEIVED that has no further use in it’s intended form or function but otherwise is still useful in some manner. The excessive years of consumerism created a habit of convenience to lump both within the context of the former and dispose of the lot as rapidly as is possible. Today we realize this practice is not merely wasteful but detrimental to our health and well-being. Our efforts til now have been mainly focused on separating and storing such perceived waste; waiting for someone to figure out something to do with it. </li></ul><ul><li>We took another approach altogether. Beginning with identifying what is likely to become a serious problem due to the design philosophy of planned obsolescence. While unable to prevent this practice, we deliberately used creativity to research and test methods of using this perceived waste in ways never imagined by the original designers. Furthermore, to prevent such material from becoming “waste” again, designed a new high quality and practical product which such perceived waste can readily be transmogrified. </li></ul>

Defined: transmogrification (n) The noun has meanings: has meanings: <ul><li>The act of changing into a different form or appearance (especially a fantastic or grotesque one), one with an entirely different aspect. </li></ul><ul><li>This can be applied to function as well; the original reason for building some object does not imply that is the only valid use for such object. </li></ul><ul><li>It is especially true of recycled items, as often these cannot perform the original function and hence reclassified to recycle status. </li></ul>

Current Efforts <ul><li>Often such electronic components contain environmental hazards </li></ul><ul><li>Focus is preventing these from contaminating the environment. </li></ul><ul><li>Action is sorting out and preventing such from going to landfill. </li></ul><ul><li>Indefinite storage is the general case. </li></ul>
  5. 5. What we do is carry out the transmogrification of such items into high quality, aesthetically stylish new market goods.
  6. 6. In other words we take trash and create something useful from it <ul><li>Preventing toxins from going to landfill </li></ul><ul><li>Stimulating the economy by producing quality and stylish recycled goods, transact business, create jobs, training, and trickle-down benefits. </li></ul>
  7. 7. For example, solar charged guitar amp <ul><li>built with recycled cellphones for the battery </li></ul>
  8. 8. Team of musicians, artists, and engineers <ul><li>collaborating to create high value recycled products </li></ul>
