Catering firm Moss House Farm has now significantly increased
its workforce to cope with expansion.
Phil became aware that he needed adequate processes in place
to monitor productivity, profit margins, KPIs & forecasting.
“I have certainly felt the benefit of the mentoring programme, it
has given me time to step outside the business and look at it
with greater objectivity. The 50-50 balance of mentor meetings
and ‘homework’ was just right as there wasn’t an excessive
amount of time out of the business.”
The systems I have put in place have made it much easier for me
to monitor the business and work out a more planned and
sustainable approach moving forward.”
The last 3 years brought some rapid client gain and increase
of workload for Chorley based Woodville Accountancy and
it was running a little wild. Michael needed to take stock,
put some structure and processes in place to prepare for
the next phase of growth, with more focus on gaining larger
clients.
“The main thing I’m learning at the moment is that I don’t
need to be working 12 hours plus a day to make the
business grow. These sessions are helping me to
concentrate my time into specific activities which will help
my business in a controlled, measurable and profitable way.
Peter (McGregor) is helping me to do that and I think he’s
going to help push us to the next level.”

Eccleston based Chocolate Magic needed, “Support to
continue growing the business and expand our wholesale
activity, as well as improving our understanding of the food
and confectionary sector.
Advice on entering new markets, along with brand support,
both in labelling and online visibility, plus expanding our
range of products and assistance finding suitable business
premises.
By the end, the investment had been made, new customers
had placed orders, Malcolm was close to agreeing a new
supply channel, and the business was ready to enter a new
and exciting phase of its growth.
Chorley-based Morgan Lighting successfully transformed
its business operations, thanks to help from Growth
Mentoring programme.
The project was tailored to enable Morgan Lighting to
define its change objectives and identify the actions,
marketing strategy and skills needed to grow the new
parts of the service business to their full potential.
“Our mentor at Orvia guided us through a number of areas
to challenge our perceptions of the market and helped
with planning as well as developing our business goals,
financial plans and the best routes to market.
