1. POINT
Creates a point object. Point objects are useful
as nodes or reference geometry for object snaps
and relative offsets.
The PDMODE and PDSIZE system variables
control the appearance of point objects.
PDMODE values 0, 2, 3, and 4 specify a figure to
draw through the point. A value of 1 specifies
that nothing is displayed.
2. Specifying the value 32, 64, or 96 selects a
shape to draw around the point, in addition
to the figure drawn through it:
3. To create a point object
• Click Draw menu » Point » Single Point.
• Specify the point location. You can snap to a
point using the Node object snap.
• Command entry: POINT
4. To set point style and size
• Click Format menu » Point Style.
• In the Point Style dialog box, select a point
style.
• In the Point Size box, specify a size, either
relative to the screen or in absolute units.
• Click OK.
• Command entry: DDPTYPE
5.
6. Line
• This command is used to draw a line
segment. In a simple line with connected
segments, each segment is a separate line
object
7. To draw lines
• Click Draw menu » Line.
• Specify the start point. You can use the pointing device or
enter coordinate values on the command line.
• Complete the first line segment by specifying the endpoint.
To undo the previous line segment during the LINE
command, enter u or click Undo on the toolbar.
• Specify the endpoints of any additional line segments.
• Press ENTER to end or c to close a series of line segments.
To start a new line at the endpoint of the last line drawn,
start the LINE command again and press ENTER at the Specify
Start Point prompt.
• Command entry: LINE
8. Polyline
• This command is used to draw a polyline segments and
is similar to line command except some added fearures
to change the line width, add arc, etc.
• Command entry:PLINE
• To draw polylines
• Click Draw menu » Polyline.
• Specify the start point. You can use the pointing device
or enter coordinate values on the command line.
• Specify next point or
[Arc/Halfwidth/Length/Undo/Width]
9. • Arc: Add arc segments to the polyline
• Close: Ends the command or close the
traverse
• Halfwidth: Specify the width from the centre
of the wide polyline segments to one of its
edges.
• Length: Creates the length at same angle.
• Undo: Removes the most recent segments.
• Width: Specifies the width of next segments.
10. Multiline
• This command is used to creates a multiple
parallel lines. Multilines are composed of 1 to
16 parallel lines, called elements.
• Command entry: mline
11. To draw a multiline
• Click Draw menu » Multiline.
• At the Command prompt, enter st to select a style.
• To list available styles, enter the style name or enter ?.
• To justify the multiline, enter j and select top, zero, or
bottom justification.
• To change the scale of the multiline, enter s and enter a
new scale. Now draw the multiline.
• Specify the starting point.
• Specify a second point.
• Specify additional points, or press ENTER. If you specify
three or more points, you can enter c to close the multiline.
• Command entry: MLINE
12. Construction Lines
• Lines that extend to infinity in both directions, known as
construction lines, can be used as references for creating
other objects.
To create a construction line by specifying two points
• Click Draw menu » Construction Line.
• Specify a point to define the root of the construction line.
• Specify a second point through which the construction line
should pass.
• Continue to specify construction lines as needed. All
subsequent xlines pass through the first point specified.
• Press ENTER to end the command.
• Command entry: XLINE
13. Circle: This command is used to create
a circular object. We can draw or
create circle by following method.
1.Centre and radius or diameter:We can draw
circle by specifying centre and radius/diameter
of circle by this method.
14. 2. 3 points:In this method circle is drawn from
three defined points.
3. 2 points:In this method circle is drawn from
two defined points.
4. tangent tangent radius:In this method circle is
drawn by froming tabgent to two lines.
15. Arc: This command is used to create a
circular arc in a drawing. We can
create an arc by following method:
1. 3 point method:In this method arc is
drawn passing from three defined
points.
2. start center method: This method is
used to draw arc by following method:
A. Start, center, end: We can create arc by
defining start point, center point and end point.
16. B. Start, center, angle: We can create arc by
defining start point, center point and angle;
included angle. The arc is drawn in counter
clockwise direction so to draw it clockwise input
value of angle should be negative.
17. C. Start, center, length: We can create arc by
defining start point, center point and length of
chord. Length of chord gives anticlockwise
direction to chord and vice-versa.
• 3. start end method: This method is
used to draw arc by following
method:
A. Start, end, center : We can create arc by
defining start point, end point and center point.
18. B. Start, end, angle: We can create arc by
defining start point, center point and angle;
included angle.
C. Start, end, direction: We can create arc by
defining start point, center point and direction.
Direction refers to the angle formed by the
tangent to first with 0d.
19. D. Start, end, radius: This method is suitable
when start point end point and radius of arc is
known. Start point, end point and radius are
defined simultaneously.
20. 4. center start method: This method is
sub divided as:
a. Center, start, end: This method is suitable
when center point, start point and end point
of arc is known. Center, start point and end
point are defined simultaneously.
b. Center, start, angle: This method is suitable
when center point, start point and angle of
arc is known. Center, start point and angle
are defined simultaneously.
21. c.Center, start,length: This method is suitable
when center point, start point and angle of arc is
known. Center, start point and angle are defined
simultaneously.
