2. WHAT IS MEDITATION?
• Meditation is the direct experience of your
own mind.
• Instead of distractions, there is a calm, clear
awareness, a sense of being instead of doing,
of tranquility instead of confusion.

• Comfort comes first : Loose and comfortable
• Clothes worn during meditation must have
some symbolic significance.
• It helps the mind to concentrate on
meditation.
• Example- colors, shapes, ornaments.

Saffron & maroon - sun and enlightenment.
purple - God’s majesty.
Blue - Tranquility
These colors affect our mind. Choose your color
whole you meditate and see the difference!

between the man and divine.
• A scarf, (Buddhist ceremonies) - the act of
offering.
• Bare foot - Humility and putting aside of
earthy things.

• Simple wooden beads / pendant with spiritual
significance . example : cross or ‘om’.
Make sure whatever you wear or choose should help
you focus and should be used only during the
session of meditation.

colours and our body parts.
• Examples-heart chakra , throat
