To whom it may concern,
I am writing this recommendation at the request of Mrs. Sangeeta P. Heines, who has been known
to me as an Instructor of English as a Foreign Language at Taif University, Taif, Saudi Arabia and
who was employed at that university from December, 2011 until October, 2013. During that time I
was the Campus Coordinator for the English Language Center and as such, Mrs. Sangeeta’s
immediate supervisor.
While Mrs. Sangeeta was working with us at the English Language Center of Taif University, she
proved to be quite versatile. She developed the curriculum for our new course of Specialized
English for students in the Computer Science Department and she coordinated the teachers teaching
that course. At the same time, she was an active member of the Center’s Examination Committee
as well as a member of the Professional Development Committee. When the University adopted the
Blackboard program to connect students and teachers, it was Mrs. Sangeeta who taught her
colleagues how to use the program effectively. She used her many skills in technology and created
web-sites for students and teachers, alike. At the end of each term, workshops were given by the
English Language Center, and Mrs. Sangeeta acted as a presenter each term, presenting topics
including various aspects of technology for the classroom. Indeed, Mrs. Sangeeta was one of the
first at our ELC who used the overhead projector to enhance lectures for her students and she also
authored supplementary material for them to help them understand and learn in a modern, more
effective way. In the absence of guidelines for examinations in the Technical English course, Mrs.
Sangeeta created her own exams for all four teaching skills. I was impressed by her use of authentic
material and teaching techniques which reflected her CELTA experience, even though her classes
were made up of groups of over 90 students, each.
Mrs. Sangeeta was always punctual, efficient and meticulous in her work. She was known by the
students and colleagues as a fair, caring, enthusiastic, cheerful teacher. Her teaching was creative.
Her grading of exams and assignments was always accurate and prompt. Her work for the Center
was always turned in on time and well done.
In short, I would heartily recommend Mrs. Sangeeta for any endeavor that she chooses to undertake.
With regards,
Hussah Al Ghoraibi
