The Apartheid in South Africa.
Beginnings:
In 1652 a group of Dutch colonist settled in what would
become Cape Town.
Later de territory became a British colony.
In 1948 the National Party came to power and codified
segregation and social injustice that existed in the country.
Meaning and aim of Apartheid:
• The aim of Apartheid was to maintain white domination
and extend the racial separation.
• Apartheid means ``separation´´ in afrikaner.
Steve Biko
• In 1969 Steve Biko created ``The South African Students
Organizations´´ which would be de Black Consciousness
Movement.
• In 1973, Biko was subjected to the rules of ``ban´´ by
which the government sought to silence their opponents.
• Biko died in 1977.
