Rand Transport is a national refrigerated transport and storage company, and the largest climate
controlled distributor in Australia. It provides services to clients requiring the transport of food
products, and its operations are supported by an extensive fleet of purpose-built temperature
controlled containers and pantechnicons, and state of the art satellite tracking systems.
In this role, responsibilities included:
Assisting with the integration of the Toll business into Rand Transport
Administration relating to 900 registered pieces of equipment and 2000 fleet items
Supervising, training, and mentoring, 7 staff
Overseeing multiple administrative functions, including: servicing, fuel card administration, fuel
and bulk fuel facilities, e-tag administration, state and federally-based registrations, fines and
infringement matters, manual handling equipment administration (including forklifts) and
equipment defects, the coordination of rental agreements and appropriate signatory levels,
invoicing, data entry, load and pallet reconciliations, and the authorisation of payments to
subcontractors with respect to high freight volumes
Raising cheque requests and cheques and ensuring that vehicle registrations were paid by
credit card or cheque, in a timely manner
Closing out, including verifying services already delivered and those scheduled for the
following week
Conducting monthly account reconciliations, including those for e-tag accounts, rental
equipment and invoices
Analysing and verifying bulk fuel usage
Entering fuel tank dip data, including capacities and deliveries (for a $4M fuel account)
Changing registrations from federal to local
Obtaining certificates of roadworthiness (for 100 vehicles over 4 months)
Responding promptly to emails and correspondence in relation to issues such as invoicing,
servicing and defects
Liaising with a wide range of people, at all levels, including: internal departments, operations,
the Department of State Revenue, Brisbane City Council, and the South Australian Police
Handling general enquiries including finance, refund, and registration, enquiries

Achievements:
Saved $8K a month by consolidating the e-tag accounts into one efficient system (2014 – Pres)
Saved $20K - $30K from an equipment servicing company by investigating, and uncovering,
irregular invoices, discrepancies, and duplications, in relation to rental equipment on hire. (I
requested, and reviewed, the rental agreement from initial hire onwards, and discovered that
the company had made additional charges). After meeting with the company I then
established an agreement on fixed charges and put the processes in place (2015 – 2016)

Reduced costs by $20K - $30K a year by identifying accountability gaps. For example,
relating to items unnecessarily repaired by service technicians and not signed off. I then
established and agreed new procedures with the maintenance company (2013 – 2015)

Permanent Full-time – Morningside, Brisbane, Qld (July 2008 – March 2012)
Toll Refrigerated was an interstate line haul and consolidated warehousing operation. In this
operational role, I was in charge of all manifests and paperwork associated with freight movement.
Responsibilities included:
Supervising 7 staff
Liaising with contractors and administering payments
Conducting company invoice payment reconciliations
Auditing rates to verify that charges were correct
Cross checking paperwork and electronic data
Data entry and verifying all hard copy and computer data
