2. ABOUT THE UNIVERSITY
JNTUH is Situated in the heart of the city at Kukatpally a
major landmark- Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University,
Hyderabad has an environment of academic excellence with A

Accreditation Council). Bringing the spark of knowledge to

ABOUT THE INSTITUTION
JNTUH College of Engineering, Nachupally (JNTUHCEJ)
was established in the year 2007, is one of the constituent
colleges of JNTU Hyderabad, with five different branches, viz.
CSE, IT, ECE, ME and EEE. JNTUHCEJ aims to be an
institute of excellence in training the students to meet the global
needs and is supported by well qualified and highly
experienced professors drawn from research and industry
backgrounds. The location of the sprawling campus surrounded
by lush green hills, temples (Vemulawada, Kondagattu &
Darmapuri) and academic ambience upholds the traditional and
cultural values among the students. JNTUH CEJ is located at
Nachupally, near Kondagattu, which is about UG/PG students
ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT
Department of Computer Science and Engineering was
established in 2007 with a bachelor degree. It was started with
an intake of 60 and has common laboratories and a department
library with reference books. The master degree in CSE was
started in year 2011 with an intake of 18. The department is
having 13 teaching faculty members out of which 6 are
doctorates
ABOUT THE WORKSHOP
With the recent surveys on the employability of graduates
which have unanimously reported that the percentage of young
graduates, particularly engineering graduates produced by the
Indian education system, is poor. The basic problem of this poor
that is the quality of education is very important to present
generation of students. National bodies concerned with education
like UGC , AICTE,TSCHE,JNTUH and TASK have been looking
for ways and means to bring about reforms in the education system
that would improve the quality of education in Indian universities
and affiliated colleges. As a part of this effort, the National Board of
Accreditation (NBA), after thoroughly gone through the best
practices in education in the world, NBA Organization introduced
the Outcome Based Education (OBE) system in Indian educational
institutions on par with the Washington Accord an international
agreement among bodies responsible for accrediting engineering
degree programs. Outcome Based Education is an educational
philosophy where the student-centered learning approach that is
measuring the student performance based upon a predetermined set
of expected program outcomes. Outcomes mean set of values or
attributes (skills, knowledge and reduce unemployment etc.) on
what a student should acquire upon completion of his/her program.
Washington Accord, set up in 1989, recognizes the equivalency of
Professional Engineering programs accredited by their respective
bodies like NBA which are its signatories. The graduates of
accredited programs in any of the signatory countries are recognized
by the other signatory bodies having met the academic requirements
for entry to the practice of engineering.
This workshop brings you a good exposure on ideas and
concepts underlying OBE particularly with reference to teaching
and learning of engineering and to come up with ideas on how to
make engineering techniques learning outcome based and effective
