2. About the Instituition
Shri Vishnu Engineering College for Women was established in
the academic year 2001-2002 with a view to achieving
excellence in education. The college is accredited to NBA and
has a permanent affiliation from JNTUK Kakinada and attained
Autonomous Status in 2014. Like, the Founder Chairman
Padmabhushan Dr. B. V. Raju, the present Chairman Sri K. V.
Vishnu Raju is a visionary who has created the right ambiance
with state-of-the-art laboratories and infrastructural facilities
to empower rural women in professional courses.
Shri Vishnu Engineering College for Women has witnessed
significant growth within a short span of time and stands out
as one of the best Engineering colleges in Andhra Pradesh. It
has excelled in providing excellent career opportunities to the
maximum number of students and also helped them develop
an all round personality for a better tomorrow.
In recognition of the college’s progressive strides, the World
Bank granted TEQIP Phase II Project and IMC Ramakrishna
Bajaj Trophy in educational sector for imparting quality
education.
The college has taken initiative in conducting various programs
like WISE(Women In Software Engineering), Radio Vishnu,
Vishnu T.V and Assistive Technology Lab(ATL) activities to instill
originality & creativity among the Engineering students.
About the Department
The Department of Basic Science is one of the reputed
departments, which functions with ‘excellence’ as its motto.
Started in the year 2001-02, along with the Engineering
Departments, it takes care of the discipline and academics of
the first year B.Tech students laying foundation for them to
become professionals.
It has steadily grown as a dynamic center for academic and
research activities. It is endowed with qualified and experienced
faculty. Further it has full-fledged laboratories to meet the
requirements of the budding Technocrats. The department
possesses state–of-the-art English Communication Skills Lab in
addition to well equipped Physics and Chemistry labs.
The faculty is actively engaged in research -in publishing
research papers and guiding research students of various
Universities. The faculty members are working in the areas of
Operations Research, Algebra, Differential Equations, Nano
science & Nanotechnology, English language and literature. In
addition to the regular courses in Mathematics for B.Tech. and
P.G programmes, the department takes initiative in training the
students in soft skills.

The five day workshop is aimed at enriching the skills of faculty
