No amount of slick presentation, pleasing to the eye, attractive to the ear, sensual to the touch, is going to bring the future to fruition. A tug only, at the heart, at our faculties to sense what wants to be born: that is what draws us together.

My story: When I finished university, I joined a manufacturing company who specialized on making head lamps and tail lams for cars. The CEO and co-owner was an ex-military commander who left his high-status job to start his own business and after 6 failures founded the company that I joined. Over 14 years he grow the compony to 800 people making 5 million car lamps per year. The factory was a state of art establishment. With 35000 sqr area it only had one cleaner. A couple of year after I joined the CEO decided to retire from his position and leave immigrate to Canada. He employed a new CEO and handed over everything to him. Within the first few weeks it was super clear that the organization was suffering from loosing its leader. You know Mo was a kind of CEO who was involved in all day to day activities. He was checking every offer, every design, every job offer, so no one got the change to make any impactful decisions. It took the organisations more than two years to be able to step up and grow into an independent unit, capable of making big decisions without Mo. When you look at Mo’s character all you could name was good virtues, he was charismatic, with good intentions and changed lives of 800 families in small town. But no one could be as great as he was.
When people are put into the position of power that’s when the real test happens. I am guilty of not trusting my employees, and fellow teammates without even knowing that I was being a control freak. To me being a servant leader requires a deep inner journey of self discovery which need courage and a big heart to be able to admit to our faults and recover.
You take the blue pill—the story ends, you wake up in your bed and believe whatever you want to believe. You take the red pill—you stay in Wonderland, and I show you how deep the rabbit hole goes. Remember: all I'm offering is the truth. Nothing more.
