Drama Production: Alvin Community College 2011 - 2014
Theatre helped me be creative by thinking outside the box, which helped me be better
in the classroom and helps me in general when faced with any issues. Being a part of the
theatre helped develop my team building skills, because I had to work with others as a
team in order to achieve success. I provide details of the successful productions that I
was associated with:
• Pearland Theater Guild; “Death by Disco” (February 26
th
, 2011). A commercial
production, the Theater Guild format is a theater – dinner setting. I was Actor, my
character Vinnie, was a comedic role, and 70’s retro costume.
• Pearland Theater Guild; “Cinderella” (spring of 2012). The Guild’s holiday
production was a significant undertaking and involved large cast and crew. I was
part of the Stage Crew constructing and painting the set, and stage management
during the stage performances
• Pearland Theatre Guild: “Idol” (spring of 2012). I worked the concessions
managing advance on walk-in ticket sales, greeting patrons to the theater, and usher
during performance breaks.
• Alvin Community College; Fools (fall of 2011). I was the magistrate (a sixty year
old man) in the production and also a member of the crew responsible for props,
construction, and painting
• Alvin Community College; Fruitcakes (Christmas 2011). I had multiple roles to
support this production from a crowd usher, being part of the construction crew, to
managing the props for the performance.
3. • Alvin Community College; Nunsense Jamboree (spring of 2012). I work on
construction of the set, and during the performance I was a crowd usher.
• Alvin Community College; Over the River and threw the Woods (fall of 2012) I
played the part of an elderly grandfather and was a principle character in the
production.
• Alvin Community College; Frontiers day parade. I worked on the theme,
production and construction of the parade floats in two parades, one year theme
was “Hollywood’, the second year the theme was “constructing your future.”
• AV (Audio-Visual) I watched and learned how to set up technical equipment for
conferences in a hotel environment. I also tested the microphone for the stage and
ensured the Television monitors under the stage were working.
