Welcome to Kindergartern! I am your teacher, Ms. Sharp. I am so excited for this new year!
To get us started, let me share a few things about me.
A few more things about me and my teaching experience.
I believe that every child can learn and that education is the key to success.
Every child is unique. I believe that students learn in a variety of ways.
While I am responsible for guiding and encouraging your child in their education, there are several things that you, as parents, need to do to make this a successful year.
Students also have responsibilities.
At John Tyler we have a schoolwide set of rules and expectations, commonly referred to as our “ROARS”. Students will be expected to follow these at all times.
This year our class will be participating in the following subject areas.
This is a preview of some of the things we will be learning in Language Arts this year.
Here are some of the things we will be studying in Math this year.
Students will be participating in both Social Studies and Science this school year.
This is a copy of our general classroom schedule.
Homework will be assigned each week. It should not take more than 30 minutes total, which includes 20 minutes of just reading with someone.
Here is the list of requested supplies. In addition, we always welcome boxes of tissues and Clorox wipes.
If you need to get in touch with me you can email me, call the office during school hours, or contact me through ClassDojo. ClassDojo is an app that allows me to communicate with all parents at once, or to communicate with you individually about your child. I will be sending home individual student codes for ClassDojo this week.
Does anyone have any questions?
I’m so excited for this year and I look forward to working with you all and having a great year!
