Adani Power Mundra is located in Kutch District, Gujarat. It is India's second largest power plant and the fifth largest thermal power plant in the world. The plant has a total generating capacity of 4,620 MW distributed across various units with sub-critical and super-critical operations. It has its own coal handling port and reserves enough coal to run the plant for 3 months without interruption. The plant uses a deaerator to remove gases from boiler feed water and has 8 cooling towers for water treatment. Power is transmitted from Mundra to Mohindergarh using India's first and longest private sector HVDC system.
